Counted sheep, relaxed every muscle in the body, tried to breath slowly, changed position of my body, different pillows... none of these things worked when I came home exhausted last night. I simply couldn't fall a sleep. Am I tired today? The answer is YES. Am I in a bad mood today? The answer is NO. Why you might ask? Well, let's start from the beginning...
Woke up early Sunday morning, full of energy and expectations. "Let's see what the day has in store for me," I thought to myself while making some strong coffee. After 2 cups and a nice shower, the girlfriend and I took the car and headed to town. The 10-minute walk from the car park to the shopping area was a pleasure as the sun was out (it was supposed to rain all day). After buying my father's 5th Christmas gift (yes, he is crazy about xmas... just like a child), we met up with two friends and strolled around for 1-hour before finally deciding on a restaurant. Although the service wasn't the best, the food didn't disappoint.
We left the restaurant fully satisfied. The fact that it started pissing down 1 minute into our walk back to the car didn't matter, because a taxi passed by and picked us up. It seemed like the perfect day so far... and still I had the evening to look forward to!
At 18:00 sharp my friend arrived outside my home. After a 10-minute drive we arrived at our destination. As usual, we went up to the bar for some drinks first before hitting the casino floor. We found two decent slot machines next to each other. My friend started winning right away on Book of Ra. Meanwhile, I was struggling playing Lucky Lady's Charm. After feeding the machine/the game with 100 Euro, I finally got the bonus game and collected some winnings. My friend had lost about 200 Euro and I was up 100 Euro when we decided to hit the poker tables.
It was a very busy Sunday. A tournament was running and the only cash game table was full to its capacity. We waited about 15 minutes until they finally opened another one. It quickly filled up once my friend and I sat down. My buddy and I clashed in the first "major" pot. I had A

and called his raise of 20 Euro before the flop. The flop came down 2
210. He checked and I quickly betted 30 Euro. He called. The turn was the 8 and he raised 60 Euro. I called with my flush draw. The river card was the 5 and he checked. I figured that he was weak and decided to put him all in. He looked at me, at his cards, shook his head and folded his hand. I gladly revealed my hand to him and the rest of the table. "I had an ace with a worse kicker," he announced with a smile on his face.
About 5 minutes later, I picked up 8 5 of clubs and called a 10 Euro bet. There were three people in the pot and the flop came down 8 5 A (two diamonds). I was first to act and bet 20 Euro. The first guy quickly threw his hand into the muck, but the other guy made the call. The turn card was the 10 of spades. I bet 30 Euro and he called. The river was the king of diamonds. I went into the tank for a few seconds before knocking twice on the table. He bet 90 Euro after 1 minute or so. "Damn, I should have raised the flop more," I thought to myself. "Maybe he saw me as weak now when I checked on the river... or maybe he actually has AK or a flush?."
"Nice river," I told the eastern European looking dude and folded my hand. He didn't say anything, nor did he show his hand. Play moved on...
I was dealt two queens a few hands later. I bet 20 Euro and an old lady, who watched Snooker on her mobile, called from the small blind. The flop came down 4 4 10. She checked, and I quickly bet 25 Euro like a tried to steal the pot. Well, she called right away and then checked once the dealer had put out the turn card: a not so scary 5 of diamonds. I raised 50 Euro and she made the call. The turn card was the ace of clubs and I prayed to the poker gods she would check. The poker gods heard my prayers... and I decided to check as well. I turned over my pocket queens... and thankfully she gave her cards face down to the dealer.
My friend and I decided to leave the table about 15 minutes after that hand. I was up about 100 Euro and he was down a few hundred. We took a walk around the casino premises until we found 2 empty seats at Black Jack table. We were doing pretty okay and left the table about 30 minutes later with a 100 Euro profit each. We decided to head back to the good old slot machines once again. After feeding the machine with my second 50 Euro bill, I hit a 100 Euro win on Book of Ra... then I got the bonus game. And guess what? I got 5 re-triggers! That's right! 60 freespins!
All eyes were on my monitor when the money kept rolling in. Once the bonus game was over, I had over 300 Euro in my account! I didn't cash out though. Stupid as I am I continued playing different games on the same machine over the next 1,5 hour or so. It was one hell of roller coaster, but somehow I managed to get away with a 200 Euro profit in the end. After checking my pockets this morning, I calculated that I won 500 Euro last night. Not bad, huh? I will probably take a break from casino games now. I'm going abroad in 2 weeks and want to enjoy the profits from this month.
